Reducing forehead wrinkles with brow lift surgery

March 29th, 2009

Forehead and eyebrow lift surgery allow people to have a more youthful appearance that has minimal discomfort during the procedure. The common procedures are removing excess forehead skin, repositioning the eyebrow line, elevating skin to rid the frown lines, and more.

A typical brow lift surgery is performed by tightening the muscles through an incision from the top of the ears and toward the top, front area of the head. The alternative is an endoscopic brow lift surgery which is performed by creating a few smaller incisions in the head and using specialized tools to tighten the muscles. Many prefer the endoscopic surgery because it leaves less visible scars and costs nearly the same as a typical brow lift surgery. Recovery time is also shorter.

Often after a brow lift surgery, people will appear and feel more youthful with a better looking forehead. Many males are also having brow lift surgery because of the more popular demand for males to appear young. It also increases confidence and self esteem, especially to those that are very self conscious about their foreheads.

Medication
Generally no medication is prescribed after an eyebrow lift, but over-the-counter painkillers are recommended.

Risks
There are barely any risks associated with forehead lifts, other than infection which pertains to all surgeries. Nerve damage is another, although very rare. No risks are severe.
